Mexican Style Taco Bread

Got some leftover taco meat?
Be creative and let's turn it to taco bread, it's simple and delicious

Bread Dough Ingredients:
  • Step 1 - 1 Egg, beaten
  • Step 2 - 6oz: Whole Milk
  • Step 3 - 2oz: Melted Salt Butter
  • Step 4 - 2 tsp: Sugar
  • Step 5 - 1/2 tsp: Salt
  • Step 6 - 350g: Bread Flour
  • Step 7 - 1 tbsp: Dry Milk Powdered
  • Step 8 - 1 tsp: Bread Machine Yeast or Instant Yeast

Bread Dough Instructions:

  1. In the bread machine container, please place the ingredients by the following order from 1 to 8.
  2. Based on the steps, we place wet ingredients first then dry ingredients later.
  3. Close the bread machine lid, set start the "dough" cycle (it will takes about 1 hour and 30 mins).
  4. Once the dough is done, which means the first rise is complete and is ready for use.
  5. Remove the dough from the container and knead it for few seconds.
Taco Filling/Topping Ingredients:

  • Taco Meat
  • Mexican Shredded Cheese
  • Taco Sauce
  • Chopped Tomatoes (optional)
  • Taco Salsa - for topping
Taco Bread Instructions:
  1. Roll the bread dough into 12x18 inch rectangle.
  2. Place the cheese, taco meat, taco sauce, and tomatoes (optional) on the dough.
  3. Then roll up tightly lengthwise so you have one long roll.
  4. Cut the long roll dough in 12 one-inch slices.
  5. Place them onto a baking pan.
  6. Cover and let the dough rise for about one hour. 
  7. Brush the dough with egg wash.
  8. Place some salsa on top of bread dough.
  9. Then bake 325F in the oven for about 20 minutes until nice and golden.
