Homemade Fluffy Raisin Bread


This traditional Hong Kong style raisin bread is very easy to make, soft and delicious


Bread Dough Ingredients:
  • Step 1 - 1 Egg, beaten
  • Step 2 - 6oz: Whole Milk
  • Step 3 - 2oz: Melted Salt Butter
  • Step 4 - 2 tsp: Sugar
  • Step 5 - 1/2 tsp: Salt
  • Step 6 - 350g: Bread Flour
  • Step 7 - 1 tbsp: Dry Milk Powdered
  • Step 8 - 1 tsp: Bread Machine Yeast or Instant Yeast
Bread Dough Instructions:
  1. In the bread machine container, please place the ingredients by the following order from step 1 to step 8.
  2. Based on the steps, we place wet ingredients first then dry ingredients later.
  3. Close the bread machine lid, set start the "dough" cycle (it will takes about 1 hour and 30 mins).
  4. Once the dough is done, which means the first rise is complete and is ready for use.
  5. Remove the dough from the container and knead it for few seconds.
Filling Ingredient:
  • 20-30g: Unsalted Butter
  • 1-1/2 cup: Raisin
  • 3 tbsp: Sugar
Raisin Bread Instructions:
  1. Soak the raisin in hot water for about 5-10 minutes.
  2. Knead the bread dough until the dough is smooth.
  3. Roll the bread dough into 12x18 inch rectangle.
  4. Brush the butter on the dough, add sugar and raisins on top.
  5. Roll up the dough tightly, seal the edges by pinching.
  6. Slice into 6 to 8 equal parts, then transfer the dough to a loaf pan.
  7. Before putting the dough into the loaf pan, be sure to butter the pan.
  8. Cover and let the dough rest and rise for about one hour.
  9. Brush the dough with egg wash.
  10. Then bake 325F in the oven for about 20 minutes until nice and golden.
